Cas9 vs. Viral Outlaws
This humorous video puts Cas9 in the role of sheriff in an Old West-inspired explanation of CRISPR immunity. Based on work from the Doudna lab at UC Berkeley and the Greene lab at Columbia University, the video explains how RNA guides Cas9’s search for viral DNA and eventually cuts its target to prevent the virus from replicating and destroying the host cell.
