Gaming for Science? Take on the OpenCRISPR Challenge!
We are pleased to announce the official launch of the Eterna OpenCRISPR challenge! We’ve teamed up with Stanford Medicine and the NIH to give anyone and everyone the chance to advance genome editing research.
For years, the RNA folding game Eterna has turned ordinary people into citizen scientists. Players tackle puzzles through an online browser, finding unexpected patterns and solutions to long-standing RNA structure design challenges. Next, scientists at Stanford put player-designed RNAs to the test.
Now, Eterna is taking on genome editing with the first CRISPR challenge! We invite you to visit eternagame.org to help design CRISPR RNA guides for safer and better controlled genome engineering.
For a brief overview, watch the video below. For the full story, read a guest blog post from Eterna’s creator, Stanford professor Rhiju Das.
