Nucleasa

Enzima que rompe la columna vertebral del ARN o del ADN. La rotura de una hebra genera un corte y la rotura de ambas hebras genera una rotura de doble hebra.
Una endonucleasa corta en medio del ARN o ADN, mientras que una exonucleasa corta en el extremo de la hebra. Las herramientas de ingeniería del genoma como Cas9 son endonucleasas.
