Dan Joo, who received his bachelor’s degree in computer science and Ph.D. in molecular and cell biology, will share his journey from academia to industry, including various startup companies in the SF Bay Area to multi-national German companies. Joo will also explain the mission of the Trait Discovery organization within the German chemical company BASF, and how this organization is addressing the pressing needs of farmers by identifying novel traits from microbes using innovative approaches.
