Growing up in the seventies in Hilo, Hawaii, IGI Founder and President Jennifer Doudna faced frequent discrimination and found solace in reading and mathematics. Her curiosity about the world led her to Pomona College, where her passion for science took off. Inspired by professors and working with fellow scientists, Doudna describes how she eventually came to co-invent CRISPR and how it’s being leveraged for social responsibility.
In Conversations with Mike Milken, Doudna sits down with host Michael Milken to discuss a variety of topics including her early life and career, CRISPR development, and the IGI’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
