Introducing the Innovative Genomics Initiative

The Innovative Genomics Initiative is a joint venture between UC Berkeley and UC San Francisco. The IGI aims to define the next-generation of genetic engineering and genomics research. This introductory video provides an overview of CRISPR-Cas9 technology and describes some of the applications the IGI and collaborators are investigating.

In order of appearance, the video features: Jennifer Doudna (IGI Executive Director; UC Berkeley), Jennifer Puck (IGI Affiliate; UCSF), Janet Napolitano (President of the University of California), Jonathan Weissman (IGI Co-Director; UCSF), Jacob Corn (IGI Scientific Director; UC Berkeley), and Mike Botchan (IGI Deputy Director; UC Berkeley).
