Jennifer Doudna Discusses CRISPR & COVID-19 with Walter Isaacson
With national testing numbers low and infection rates rising, IGI Executive Director Jennifer Doudna assembled colleagues from around campus to brainstorm how UC Berkeley could help slow the spread of COVID-19. In a matter of weeks, the IGI was able to set up an automated testing facility capable of running thousands of tests a day.
Hear Jennifer’s conversation with Walter Isaacson as she explains the story behind IGI’s rapid COVID-19 response and how scientists might leverage CRISPR technology to address viral infections in the future.
